She shares her experience on how being a long-term student of Indian Classical Music helps her create for herself a clear, artistic and exploratory lifestyle, in a volatile and uncertain 21st century world.

Confluence 2026 was held in January at IIIT Bangalore, India, and was themed “Mirror Glitch” described as follows: In a world of selfies, stories, and avatars, we often see more of our digital selves than our real ones. Mirror Glitch explored the tension between curated identities and authentic selfhood. It reflected on how performance, filters, and online presence shape how we perceive ourselves — and how others perceive us. This theme encouraged introspection on issues like imposter syndrome, mental health, and the quiet struggles behind the screens. Mirror Glitch invited honest storytelling and celebrated the courage it takes to be real.
The series this season, hosted talks by veterans such as Prakash Belawadi and emerging talents alike.
Madhumita Bhaskar is a dynamic, multi-talented artist who has transitioned from a successful software engineering career to an inspiring entrepreneur. Her passion for children, art, education, music, and entrepreneurship makes her a leader with a pathbreaking vision for the present and future generation of artists and learners.
As a child artist she has sung for the popular children’s audio book series Karadi Tales and a children’s Hindi film Jajantaram Mamantaram released in 2003. As a Hindustani classical singer, composer, and student with over two decades of vocal training, she embodies the core elements of Jaipur Gayaki and composes Taranas with intricate layakari. Her diverse creative background extends beyond music. Alongside being a trained Bharatnatyam dancer, she actively experiments with digital art and poetry.
